In 2022 we begun the adventure of building Our Jungle Ecolodge on a spectacular 3 hectare block of land on the edge of Ketambe. The site sits on a steep hill overlooking the Alas River with jungle and mountain views in every direction. It's a breathtaking spot with cool breezes and a natural spring which we are slowly regenerating through planting hundreds of fruit trees and local native plants.

Very recently, we just completed the first building on the property. It's a 3 room longhouse with a luxuriously large share bathroom. Safar, Jenna and 1 year old Kinza are occupying two of the rooms with the third reserved for guests.

The large and airy guest room can sleep up to 3 people and has a private balcony overlooking the mountains, complete with hammock, table and chairs. The bathroom features separate rooms for toilet, shower and sinks, abundant natural light, brass fittings and hot water shower. Rainwater is collected from the roof as our sole water source and the building is designed with passive cooling methods to capture natural breezes and keep sleeping areas shaded.

Our 300m long driveway from the main road snakes steeply up the tallest hill for several kilometres around, keeping the longhouse private and secluded. As it's a decent hike into the village, the room rate includes dinner and breakfast for each night's stay. Prices depend on the number of people occupying the room.
